PHILCON 2006

70 years of Science Fiction Gatherings

Program Maps

Like all conventions, Philcon is an exercise in creative packing. Wondering where everything is and how to get there?

Maps of Program Spaces

Lobby Level

This includes the hotel's main entrance, front desk, lounge and restaurants. The two Logans-type rooms (yes, that's “Logans” with an “S”) are here; one has an entrance off the Lobby, near the foot of the escalator; the other is accessed through the atrium space between the Sheraton and GSK building. Aside from the Ballrooms, these are Philcon's two largest programming spaces.

Mezzanine Level

Most of Philcon's programming will occur on this level, in its three ballrooms and Salon-type rooms. It's accessible by escalator, staircase and elevator from the Lobby. Main Registration will be located on the balcony, near the landing from the escalator and the glassed-in “fishtank” office. The Info table, Masquerade sign-up, and Program Participant Packet Pick-Up will also be here. This level also has the hotel's Cyber Center.

(Note: all badges, including those of program participants and staffers, can be picked up at Main Registration. There's no need to find the Green Room.)

Ballroom Level

Not much will happen here; Philcon uses one of the Ballrooms, for a short period. If you see lots of fit-looking people in running garb, they're marathon-runners from the other convention using these spaces that weekend. Accessible by escalator and staircase from the Mezzanine, and by elevator.

First and Second Floors

These names indicate first and second lodging floors; they are actually located above the convention floors. The First Floor contains Seminar-class rooms, and the Second has Parlor-class. They are accessible by elevator and staircase.

Other Floors

Additional functions, such as the Con Suite and Green Room, will be scattered across the height of the lodging tower. (Sorry about that.) There are six elevators, and the staircase works fine if you're going down.

Floor plans and dimensions are also available on the hotel website:
