Our room block is technically “sold out”!

However, hotel rooms are available, but must initially be booked at the non-convention rate. Book your hotel room for your desired date(s) at any rate. Send your name, confirmation number and date to hotel2005@philcon.org. With this information in hand, our Hotel Liason will be able to adjust the charge to the con rate.

The room availability issue is due to another convention which was relocated to the Philadelphia Convention Center because of Hurricane Katrina.

• Keep trying! As individuals cancel their room, a few become available. Many rooms have been booked this way already.

• Airport Marriott: same rate as the main convention hotel: $91/night (Single/Double Occupancy), $111/night (Triple/Quad Occupancy); 20 minute train ride to center city. Call 215-492-9000 and ask for reservations. Tell them you're with the Philadelphia Science Fiction Society and Philcon. Note that the airport train line runs to both hotels. For details, see the R1 Airport Line Schedule (PDF). The Airport Marriott is at Terminal B. The Marriott Downtown is next to Market East Station. The last train to leave center city every night is 11:25 PM.

Parking & Transportation

The Philadelphia Marriott Downtown is conveniently located near public transportation and parking. Both local public transit and regional rail have stations connected to the hotel. Amtrak and Greyhound stations are a few blocks away, and rail and shuttle service are available from the Philadelphia International Airport.

For guests of the hotel, valet parking is available for $28 per day. There are many self-parking lots in the area, including a multi-level covered garage, directly across the street from the hotel. Directions

The Philadelphia Marriott Downtown is easily accessible via public transportation. The Market-Frankford Line and many trolley and regional rail lines stop within 1 block of the hotel. Public transportation also runs to the hotel from both the Amtrak station and Philadelphia International Airport.
