Joe DeVito has worked professionally for over twenty years as both a painter and a sculptor. Joe's first published work as both author and illustrator, KONG: King of Skull Island, is due out this October from DH Press. Joe has drawn on a life-long love of storytelling, King Kong, dinosaurs, and adventure to create this prequel/sequel to the original 1932 novel, King Kong. Fully authorized by the estate of Kong's creator, Merian C. Cooper, it is the first of several visual novels Joe has planned. As a painter, his credits include: Covers for Piers Anthony, Terry Bisson, Robert Bloch, Jonathan Carroll, Robert Heinlein, and Katherine Kurtz; memorable covers, posters and trading cards of Superman, Batman, Spiderman, Doc Savage, and Wonder Woman for DC Comics and Fleer; several covers for MAD Magazine; movie posters, concept art for TV shows, toys and more.

He also did the sculpting input drawings for several of the major dinosaur toys for The Lost World: Jurassic Park II. He is currently completing a twice life-size sculpture of the Madonna and Child.
