Philcon 2004 Special Guest:

Jolly R. Blackburn quit his 'real job' in 1990 to publish his small press gaming magazine, Shadis. (Which went on to win three Origin Awards for best professional gaming magazine before ceasing publication in 1998). Somewhere along the line, Jolly found the time to create a crudely drawn comic called Knights of the Dinner Table as filler.
As Jolly puts it, it was something of a 'creative burp' that he hadn't put much thought into. "It was supposed to be a one time thing." As it turns out, that strip proved to be more popular than the magazine. Enough so, that Jolly sold the magazine and decided to publish the strip as a monthly comic book.
It didn't take much to convince Jolly being part of a team was much better than struggling alone. So he threw his chips in the Kitty and jumped on board. He hasn't looked back since. After joining the ranks of Kenzer and Company the KODT D-Team was formed (Which amounted to Dave, Brian, Steve and Jolly sitting around the table tossing around ideas and laughing until their sides hurt).
Since teaming up with Kenzer and Company, Jolly and his humble Knights have gone far beyond anything he ever imagined. (including, ironically enough, 3 origin awards for best professional gaming magazine.) "It's been the perfect union," says Jolly, "The only thing more satisfying than doing a good job and making games is doing it with folks you consider good friends. I've been blessed."
